It was unavoidable….

Category: My Thoughts

Yeah, i did it.

I bought the xbox360, and i couldn’t happier that i did. Picked up Dead rising to go with it. Somehow smashing zombie heads makes things a whole lot easier at work, it calms me down and vents my frustration. It is excellent game with fun gameplay and an interesting story. I also tested out lots of different demos, been playing Streetfighter II on xbox live arcade. Fun to relive the old days when i used to spend hours upon hours cursing at the TV and smashing my controller in the ground in the slow and incredibly irritating SNES version of the game =p

Other news would be that they have finally announced the launch date for Nintendo Wii, launching in November in USA and December in Europe. I will defiantly try to get together enough money to pick it up. Playing retro games on it will be such a blast, plus it’s about time i get into the nintendo’s fanclub again after all the countless hours of fun they have provided for me in my childhood.

Sorry about the lack of update, but work has been hell the past couple of days, so by the time i get home I’m too tired to do anything except nothing at all.

I finished Hl2: Episode One, and as i suspect it did for many it left me hanging, wanting more. It was a great time while it lasted but it was far too short. But the next chapter shouldn’t be as disappointing, what with portal and Team Fortress along with it. It should hold out a little longer.

I am seriously thinking about picking up a xbox360, got the damn twitches again, i usually get them when i REALLY want something, but honestly can’t afford it. I won’t be susprised if i pick it up tomorrow though, heh. If i do end up getting it you can count on me getting xbl and at least one multiplayer, like lets say Saint’s Row.

Saw that there is a demo for the new F.E.A.R expansion out. I don’t want to play it until i have gotten my hands on the orginial, which i have been meaning to pick up for a while now.

I am getting close to finishing Ninja Gaiden, which is great because then i can start putting my focus on more current games. I started playing Oblivion again, i bought it a few months ago but got around to playing it extensively, so i am gonna make an honest attempt in the next month to do so.

I tested out the Multiplayer beta for Dark Messiah and it’s actually a lot of fun. It’s diffrent from the usual “gun” vs “tank”. Instead it’s “swords” vs “magic” and offers a nice variety of spells and upgrades you can receive for your victories in battle.

Gonna get going and finish Ninja Gaiden already now.

All i wanna do now is swear.

It’s official the launch date for the PLAYSTATION 3 has been delayed until march 2007. I am so pissed right now because of Sony’s endless reign of empty promises, lies and bullshit.

The PS3 could easily fall flat on it’s ass because of how Sony has been advertising it and making hyped lies about what it is capable off and what comes with it. If that doesn’t kill it, blu-ray might. In all honesty i would like them to scrap blu-ray and use the HD-DVD instead. They would slice the cost of the PS3 by half and we wouldn’t be reminded of their obvious attempt at trying to use the PS3 to make their blu-ray format the dominate one, which has been causing all these delays and of course much of the bullshit they have been saying.

Not only has the European release been delayed but they will only be shipping 250.000 units to USA against the original 1 million units they promised.

They haven’t been telling the truth since PS3 was announced why don’t they realize that this is only hurting them, their reputation is shot, PS3 is in real danger of losing the race to be on top, while Nintendo’s confident publicity has been raising their stocks.

I haven’t much other gaming stuff to report right now, still just fighting my way through some older games.

I saw a interesting article about a new kind of videocard, that has been rumoured because of the AMD,ATI merger that they are gonna make a CNGPU videocard. In short it would be a videocard that has a GPU and a CPU in one chip. That way it could be possible to make much cheaper computers because you wouldn’t have to buy the cpu and videocard as separate components. It won’t crank out a lot of performance for gamers but it will be nice for those people not looking for gaming performance.

Just for the heck of it.

I made a new avatar for use with forums.

It staples me as a UT fanboy, but hey that isn’t such a bad thing, plus it’s true. :p

Here is the big version http://www.ga-servers.com/images/avatarXbig.jpg

It depicts each generation of UT, and the X is my nickname’s “logo”.

….i know it sucks, but hey as an avatar(small) no one will see it’s suckyness. ;)

The reason i wanted to make it is because i’ve already started waiting impatiently for UT2007 now. I know it is still months away, but i still want it…

Hmm, it seems that Sony are at it again, causing misery and making empty promises.

They have been saying from the start that the ps3 will be able to output video in 1080p, but now it’s apparent that even the pricier version isn’t shipping with a HDMI cable which is needed to output at 1080p.

This means that you will have to pay $600 for the ps3 and then an extra $40 for the cable. Of course for the people that do own a 1080p capable TV this isn’t such a big deal, since they would seem to have a lot of money anyways.

But for us poor people this is a slap in the face, people are saving up for the ps3 and then they suddenly decide to add extra costs to an already overly expensive console. I for one can’t afford anything right now and it’s killing me to be not able to get a xbox360 and as things are at the moment i won’t be able to get the ps3 either anytime soon. *sniff*

Woah!

Just got an email from my webspace provider. Due too some new hardware they have installed they have increased my total webspace to 110gb!

Gotta say i really like this provider, they seem to be going out of their way to keep their customers happy.

I have considered using the extra space under hosting videos and/or music from videogames for streaming or download, we shall see, or maybe porn..? :p

I tried out the new demo for the next Warhammer 40k: Dawn of war expansion called Dark Crusade. It has got me drooling all over. 2 new races and a total of 7 races to choose from, this is ending up to be one of the better RTS ever made.
