I have made a new forum, the old one was messed up and hosted on my old host.

Instead of phpbb2 i used Simple machine forums this time which does seem like a better and faster forum.

Just wanted to make a short post to wish everyone a merry christmas and a happy new year!

I’ve been doing good, month just flew by and only a few more days till christmas.I went on christmas vacation last saturday and i have been doing some extensive rest and relaxation, it’s good to get time away from work especially since my job can be such a pain in the ass.

I haven’t bought any games this month due to most of my money going into buying other people presents but that doesn’t mean that i can’t find something to do with my time.

One of my close friends bought himself a xbox360 last week and we have been doing some co-op in Gears of war over xbl which i gotta say is a lot of fun. GoW still hasn’t gotten boring for me, it’s just something about that game that just keeps me wanting to play again and again.

console sales numbers have been released, Wii has been doing good selling over 1 million units already while the ps3 has only sold about 350 thousand.

Of course these numbers haven’t been verified but wouldn’t be all that supprising to me. Wii was sold out at BT(the biggest gamestore in Iceland) when i went there last time only days after it first arrived.

I want to get a Wii but i am not sure if i will be able to afford it, with my planned trip to DO which won’t be cheap.

Prey 2 has also been announced promising more innovative gameplay, i have been letting the first one sitting on my shelf for awhile collecting dust, i should really pick it up and finish it when i get home.

I joined the beta for Dungeon Runners

Now i realise that this is a beta, but it has a lot of issues like extreme lag problems at least in my case. The game is so lagged that it is pretty much impossible for me to play it.

I am hoping that the issues are related to a malfunction in canat3 sea string(connecting Iceland to Canada) and it will get sorted once that has been fixed rather then it being a serious programming problem or something.

If the lag issues get sorted, i will be doing some much beta testing because the game has intriguing gameplay which reminds me of Diablo II, it however is an mmo so it is of a much larger scale.

Best thing about it, it’s free!

So it looks like i will be visiting America next year. The plan is to fly to boston and then hitch a ride to Digital Overload hosted by none other then Tim Buckley. Already got a travelling partner to there and i am really looking forward to it. This is gonna be my first trip to another country then Denmark, first time i visit a big convention/LAN, first time i meet someone i chat with over the internet(from other countries) and the first time i meet a comic artist. I think i am gonna be overwhelmed by all this heh.

In other news i have very little to report, i bought one new game last weekend, Justice league Heroes. It is a fairly new xbox orginial game. After i got the xbox360 my xbox has just been collecting dust and i’ve become somewhat of a snob since once you’ve gone HD it’s hard to go back. This game is pretty good, it starts out primitive and the heroes do die far to easy in this game, Superman can barely take a punch during the starting phase of this game. However i did spend a few hours after i got home playing it so it’s addictiveness is alright. It has a nice co-op and overall a solid title. One thing that bugged me about it is that you can’t select which heroes you have for each mission, my favourite would have to be the flash and the green lantern. Flash has some cool and of course very fast moves available to him. Although it is solid game, it is nowhere near as good as the marvel counterpart Marvel:Ultimate Alliance which is a whole lot of fun to play, with over 20 playable characters and tons of mini missions to finish and diffrent endings depending on what you do in the game.

I went to see The Grudge 2 last week. That movie didn’t take itself very seriously and overall it was bad. There was a laugh riot over one of the scene in the movie where it just became far to silly instead of scary. Sure it has a few spooky scenes, but zero plot and i could have lived without seeing it.

Christmas draws near and so does my break from work, it’s gonna be nice to go back to Vestmannaeyjar and visit my family, it’s been to long now and i always love being there during christmas, to take my mind away from work, which in itself isn’t something i want to do, sure it is good honest work but if i were to choose i would want to work at something related to gaming whatever that might be and that is what i aiming for and i will get there someday!
