To sum it up, it was a mixed bag and had some cliches in it.
The movie centered around a Teacher called John(Nicolas Cage) and his son Caleb(Chandler Canterbury) who are both suffering from the loss of wife/mother after she got killed in a fire. At Caleb’s School a ceremony involving opening up a 50 year old time capsule Caleb is given a letter with seemingly random set of numbers.
Later that night John reads into the letter and discovers that the numbers have a meaning to them. They were predictions for every major disaster in the last 50 years with perfect accuracy the date, how many died and where it would happen. He also discovers some that hadn’t occurred yet.
So we see John trying to prevent the disasters from happening.
Okay I can’t really got any further with this because it will spoil the movie.
All I can say that it had it’s flaws, some things that didn’t really make sense, and it didn’t take me long to see how it was going to play out because frankly I’ve seen it all before in another movie..not going to say what movie that was though.
I’ll give it a 6/10.
So, I say it isn’t necessarily worth seeing in the cinema, but at least worth a rental.

This is an gameplay video from some lucky bastard playing the FFXIII demo that comes with the new blu-ray edition of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
Now I’m not the biggest fan of boxing or anything like that..But OMG at those graphics. If the game really looks like that it’s going to be the most realistic boxing game ever…
Yeah I came, I saw and I lost in the Icelandic Street Fighter IV tournament. I blowed actually, got knocked out in my first fight by a fighter much better then me..I must admit I slacked off on practicing myself before this whole thing. Maybe I would had more of a chance.
However a good friend of mine made third place and won himself a collectors edition of the game so yay!
One thing I did notice however is that the 360 controller is a POS compared with the PS3 controller for this game, which I’m really not all that surprised about. Now I really wish I had got the game for the PS3 it would have been a whole lot better then having to use the broken d-pad of doom and the annoying analog stick on the 360.
Now off to the Streets!(Xbox live), I need to keep my 10:1 losing rate up!
In a few hours I’m going to take part in a Street Fighter IV tournament hosted and sponsored by Gametivi which is the only gaming related show in Icelandic television so it’s more then likely that they’ll be filming the entire thing and can use it on the show.
The top three will receive a collector’s edition of SF4 and nr.1 will also get some more prizes.
I have no idea how many are going to be there, or how hardcore they are about SF4 but I’m assuming that I can at least win one fight though I’m not expecting I’ll win this thing though.
Most would consider this game substandard and merely meant to be a good place to start for players that haven’t played RPG games before since it’s way easy with a very simple battle system and story. However despite all it’s flaws, the music in this game is simply awesome. I used to listen to this all the time, it has such arrange of catchy themes and this is but one of them.
#9 Street Fighter II - Ken Stage
The game that started it all. If it wasn’t for Street Fighter II it’s possible Fighting games wouldn’t be nearly as popular as they are today nor as good. While frustratingly hard, I loved this game back in the day and I also loved the soundtrack.
#8 Megaman X - Boomer Kuwanger Stage
When Megaman made the jump to SNES a whole new series was made they called Megman X. It improved on everything the NES versions had to offer and also boasted some kickass music such as this.
#7 Killer Instinct - Title
The game that invented “Hypeeeeeeeerrrr Coooooooommmmmboooo” Before this game came, games were limited to only about 2-3 hit combo but in this game you can easily hit 10 or more hits which was a huge thing. Aside from that the game also boasted a great music score as evident by this one.
#6 Actraiser - Forest
Actraiser is in a league of it’s own. It successfully managed to blend together action platformer and RPG…Oh did I mention you are God in the game? Pretty sure I haven’t.
#5 Donkey Kong Country - Oil Drum Alley
DKC may sound like a weird concept for a platformer game but it ended up being brilliant. DKC and DKC2 are some of the best platformer game ever made rivaling even the greatest of Mario games thanks to it’s clever map design, incredible graphics that pushed the SNES to it’s limits and incredible soundtrack.
#4 Earthworm Jim - New Junk City
So speaking of good platformer games. One of the most hilarious and wacky one you can find. In what other game could flush yourself down a toilet and use your face to whack crows? None!
#3 Legend of Zelda: A link to the Past - Castle
I could very well have put the overworld theme there but since I put it on my top NES theme list I think it’s better to go with this one instead. In my opinion this is the best Zelda game ever made.
#2 Star Fox - Corneria
Ah yes, the “OMG THE GRAPHICS DROOOOOOOOL” circa 1993..Of course today we see it for the polygon mess it is. The gameplay is solid though….I hate slippy though, that damn frog just can’t keep himself out of trouble.
